Staff Kitchen Revamp

In the summer Mr Brough, a year 8 parent and an Interior Specialist based in Gnosall, came to our rescue when AGSS wanted to revamp the small kitchen for the school staff.

Free of charge he designed, supplied and fitted a new kitchen.

AGSS and the school staff are very grateful for his contribution.

Bridgnorth Walk

AGSS are very grateful to three sets of Adams' parents and their families, the Crawford Clarkes, the Martins and the Lovejoys, who took part in the Bridgnorth Walk in the summer term.

The adults walked 22 miles from Bridgnorth and the under 14years walked 7 miles, each heading to the top of the Brown Clee.

1,200 were involved in the event, which is a walking race.

AGSS recieved 90% of the money raised by the families with the remaining 10% going to local charities.
Next year it would be great to enter a big team for Adams'

Summer Ball News

This year’s Summer Ball on 28th June made a profit of £4,600. This is a fantastic sum and we would like to say well done to everyone involved.

The weather stayed fine, the marquee looked beautiful and the tables were decorated with green and gold. The 418 guests enjoyed sparkling wine as a welcome drink on the terrace and lawns of Longford Hall whilst listening to jazz played by Three’s a Crowd, (our own Tim Cunningham, William Minty and Joe Phillips). The evening began with a spot prize, parent Mandi Evans being the lucky winner of a magnum of champagne. Guests were seated at tables of ten or twelve and enjoyed a delicious three-course waitress-served dinner provided by Jenkinsons Caterers of Stafford.

The raffle prizes were spectacular: six prize packages comprising a large number of wonderful gifts and over £2000 raised for the school from raffle ticket sales. Our prize winners were
Claire Richardson - English Garden;
Nicola Kendall - Indulgence;
Bernie Holbrook - Family Fun;
Sue Skinner - House and Home;
Paul Fleckney - Sports Supreme
Claire Papps - Lucky Dip.

Back Beat were our excellent band and guests danced on right until the end of the evening. Others tried their chances on the Fun Casino, playing roulette, black jack and poker.

Thanks to Adams’ Grammar School Society Summer Ball Committee for planning and organising the event, to all the guests for attending, to our sponsors, to those who donated a raffle prize, to Adams’ Grammar School Site Facilities Team, to the parents and sixth formers who helped on the evening itself and to everyone else who gave their time or advice and loaned pieces of equipment. We have received excellent feedback which will help us in the planning of the event next year.
